- number of the Denise chip.

- I first thought he meant SMG (for repairs) and not replacing Surface
- Mounted Devices but what you have stated is true. Hopefully AT has this
- changed in the A1200+ (a lot of the chips being SMDs)

- If they can change the motherboard enough as to sell the machine at the
- same price level as the A1200 but still make money off of it even with
- increased performance/hardware it will be worth it, it will also be worth
- it if it is easier to replace the chips.. this is what generated a lot of
- revenue for Commodore with the C64 - constantly revising the motherboard but
- for some reason, they stopped doing this with the Amiga 500 until it was too
- late. I am sure some hacking around with the A1200 motherboard will not
- take too much time and money away from designing a new chipset.
